The Value Champion program has been in existence at Sobeys for many years. Through the years it has evolved from several unique programs across the country to the national program, launched in 2018, that it remains today. Regardless of how the program has been termed across the country, over the years, the overriding principle has always been the same: to celebrate employees who exemplify the values that exist at the heart of Sobeys: People – Powered, Customer – Driven, Community – Engaged and Results – Oriented.
With the launch of the national program celebrating our amazing employees from coast-to-coast, a new celebration was created: the Sobeys National Gala. This event takes place in Halifax and provides our annual Value Champions the opportunity to celebrate together, and our leadership team the opportunity to highlight these amazing employees individually and collectively. The Value Champion program will continue to evolve but the essence of it will always remain the same: employees celebrating employees.
